Having a protein shake a couple times a day helps fuel the
body with amino acids necessary for building muscles.
After a work-out the best type of protein is going to be one that is delivered to the muscles as quickly as possible. I use the Amplified Wheybolic Extreme from GNC. This is an isolated protein for faster delivery. It's the purest form of whey protein, which is why it is absorbed so quickly and efficiently into the body. As apposed to a concentrated protein (which by the way takes longer to digest) there is a window of opportunity just after exercising so waiting too long to replenish and feed your muscles will hinder your progress. Nutrition experts recommend a diet with a variety of protein foods but for optimal results make sure that one of them is whey protein, for stronger bones and muscles. Why do I want muscles you might ask? Well the benefits are far too many to post here. However the most obvious is that muscle uses energy, fat just stores it. Muscle improves posture, muscle mass is lost as we age so working hard to increase it will keep you from sagging. So trying to have a good quality of life without building strong muscle is a joke!

Cherry juice and joint
pain? Ok so "they" say apparently tart cherry
juice is 10 times more effective than aspirin at reducing pain markers.
Plant compounds in tart cherries are proven to shut down enzymes that produce joint pain in response to overexertion or disease. It's also being used by individuals with gout, chronic arthritis and inflammation. Stress is aging your body, this physical, mental and emotional factor is causing mental tension and/or bodily harm. Stress produces hormonal reactions in the body, damages the vascular system, increases blood sugar levels, heart rate and blood pressure. Meditation, deep breathing and rest can combat some of the symptoms of stress. Getting rid of some situations that cause you stress should be considered. I don't think "they" meant spouses or children... so forget about that option. However, be a little selfish and take care of your needs, it's ok to sing out loud, dance in the mirror, laugh, get a massage and be your own priority. You are numero uno!
